Our Mission
PancreaTrack exists because the right tool did not exist. We are closing the gap between chronic pancreatic disease and the data-driven care patients deserve.
The Founding Story
In December 2024, Tim Lunsford was rushed to the hospital with hypertriglyceridemia-induced pancreatitis — triglycerides exceeding 10,000. His body was shutting down. He was placed on a ventilator. His kidneys began to fail, requiring dialysis. His pancreas was necrotized with two pseudocysts requiring debridement. He nearly didn't make it.
He survived — and spent all of 2025 back in the hospital nearly every two weeks, each time with triglycerides over 1,500. Doctors told him his condition was genetic and that it simply had to run its course. He refused to accept that answer. Not for himself — but for his 6-year-old son, who carries the same genetic risk.
In September 2025, Tim underwent what was expected to be a 14–16 hour TPIAT surgery at VCU Medical Center — one of fewer than a dozen centers in the world that performs this procedure. Seven hours in, the surgical team made the decision to stop. Inflammation, scar tissue, adhesions, and obliterated anatomy made it impossible to safely continue. Tim was brought out of surgery and the team explained what had happened. His gallbladder was removed. His pancreas was not. He came home with the same disease he went in to fix.
With 20+ years of software development experience and a father's determination to stay alive for his son, Tim built PancreaTrack. Not as a side project — as a mission. For himself, and for every patient who has ever been told their disease just has to run its course.
Who We Serve
PancreaTrack is not a general health app. Every feature was built with one specific patient population in mind.
Recurrent pain episodes, malabsorption, hospitalizations, and the daily uncertainty of life with CP. PancreaTrack was built for this.
PERT dosing is notoriously hard to optimize without data. PancreaTrack correlates fat intake, enzyme doses, and bowel outcomes to identify what works.
After total pancreatectomy, patients face simultaneous management of complete EPI, variable insulin secretion, and ongoing pain. No tool addressed this — until now.
Pancreatogenic diabetes is frequently misclassified and poorly managed with T1D/T2D tools. PancreaTrack tracks glucose in the context of the whole disease picture.
Coming soon: PancreaTrack Junior — a purpose-built platform for the 1 in 10,000 children affected by pancreatitis, and the families fighting alongside them.
A verified physician portal gives gastroenterologists, surgeons, and dietitians structured, longitudinal patient data — without EHR integration requirements.
Clinical Engagement
PancreaTrack was designed with input from clinicians who specialize in pancreatic disease and post-surgical care. Their feedback has shaped every clinical feature — from PERT dosing correlation to physician-ready report formatting.
We are actively building our clinical advisory structure and pursuing formal research partnerships with academic medical centers in the pancreatic disease space.
Partner with usOur Commitment
PancreaTrack is not a wellness company. We serve patients navigating one of the most difficult chronic disease landscapes in gastroenterology. Our commitments reflect that responsibility.
Where We Are Going
PancreaTrack AI is the foundation. What comes next is built on the same mission — patients first, always.
The flagship platform for adult patients with chronic pancreatitis, EPI, post-TPIAT conditions, and type 3c diabetes.
A purpose-built platform for pediatric pancreatitis patients and their families. Made for young warriors. Built for a better tomorrow.
A nonprofit arm focused on patient awareness, community support, research funding, and advocacy for the pancreatitis community.
Aggregated, de-identified longitudinal data from the first patient-generated dataset purpose-built for pancreatic disease research.
Real-time continuous glucose monitoring data flowing directly into the platform — completing the picture for post-TPIAT and type 3c patients.
